Social Media

 SOCIAL MEADIA

Social media can be described as web-based technologies that enable users to create, share information, interact with other users through computing technologies. Some of the most famous social networks are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok and LinkedIn with the specific features which adjust to the users and objectives.

Exponential growth of social networks has contributed to a new sensation in how people communicate and in what way. Thus, people can share news, their opinions and even their personal experience in a jiffy and distances can be overcome as well as interaction on a global level is possible. Such platforms enable businesses to advertise, sell their products directly to clients, and even gain their loyalty.

However, if the measured line is social media, a number of issues arise. The problems that may be evident include matters to do with a bully and his/her peers in a cyberspace, fake news, and need for privacy, among others. This prevents people from setting realistic goals to compare with, and can cause a lot of problems related to mental health, in a world where most users are youth.

Despite these odds, social media continues to be a way of reaching out, activism, and a way of building community. It would be wiser for users today to be a little conscious when using these platforms as they can be considered advantages but have some drawbacks as well. To optimize the positive impact of social media within our lives, striking a fine line between interaction and moderation will be important.
